Job Role
A Stock Boy (also known as a Stock Clerk or Stock Associate) is responsible for managing inventory, stocking shelves, and ensuring that the store or warehouse is organized and efficient. The role involves handling goods, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring that the stockroom is neat and orderly.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that shelves are stocked with products, neatly arranged, and properly labeled.
- Keep track of inventory levels, report shortages, and assist in reordering products as needed.
- Keep the stockroom clean, organized, and accessible.
- Ensure that products are rotated properly, especially perishable items, to minimize waste.
Skills Required
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Efficiently manage time to complete tasks promptly and ensure shelves are stocked at all times.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers.
- Ability to resolve issues such as misplaced items, stock discrepancies, or customer inquiries.
