Job Summary:

An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) – B1.1 (Mechanical) is responsible for maintaining, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting aircraft airframes, engines, and mechanical systems to ensure compliance with aviation safety regulations and airworthiness standards. The role involves both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, working under regulatory guidelines such as EASA Part-66, DGCA, FAA, or other national aviation authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

Aircraft Maintenance & Repairs:

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft airframe, engines, landing gear, fuel systems, hydraulics, and mechanical components.
  • Conduct routine and non-routine inspections as per manufacturer guidelines and aviation regulations.
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical defects and malfunctions, ensuring timely rectification.

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with regulatory authorities (EASA, DGCA, FAA, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, defects, and corrective actions in logbooks and computerized maintenance systems.
  • Assist in certifying aircraft for airworthiness after maintenance checks.

Troubleshooting & Diagnostics:

  • Utilize specialized diagnostic equipment and tools to assess mechanical systems.
  • Investigate mechanical issues and recommend corrective solutions.

Safety & Quality Control:

  • Follow safety guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure a hazard-free working environment.
  • Participate in quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Education & Certification:

  • Completed Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) in B1.1 (Mechanical Engineering) from a DGCA/EASA-approved institution.
  • Possession of a valid AME license (or in process of obtaining).
  • Type Rating on specific aircraft (if applicable) is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of mechanical aircraft systems, engines, and maintenance procedures.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
  • Familiarity with aircraft maintenance software and technical manuals.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in shifts.

Experience:

  • Entry-level candidates with relevant AME training are encouraged to apply.
  • Prior experience in an MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) or airline engineering environment is an advantage.
