Job Role
Cargo agents are responsible for coordinating and facilitating the transportation and shipment of goods to ensure that cargo is transported efficiently and safely from origin to destination.
Responsibilities
Booking and Arranging Shipments:
1-Schedule and book cargo shipments with transportation carriers.
2-Ensure proper documentation and compliance with regulations.
Documentation and Compliance:
1-Prepare and handle all necessary shipping documentation, such as bills of lading, air waybills, and customs paperwork.
2-Ensure shipments comply with international and domestic regulations.
Tracking and Tracing:
1-Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery.
2-Resolve any issues related to delays, lost cargo, or other logistical problems.
Skills
Effective verbal and written communication for coordinating with clients and carriers.
Ability to manage multiple shipments and tasks simultaneously.
Understanding of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and hazardous materials handling.
Familiarity with cargo management software and tracking systems.
Requirement
Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting packages and handling cargo, if required by the job.
Familiarity with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
